On Thursday 13 October a day-long forum at The Australian National University will explore current developments in ending violence against women in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

An experienced panel of speakers has been assembled with experts from academia, government, non-government and UN agencies.

Four main topics will be covered: data collection, responses to violence against women, prevention of violence against women, and coordination/advocacy.

Femili PNG’s Research Director and ANU academic Dr Kamalini Lokuge will be speaking at the event, presenting on the valuable work Femili PNG does in Lae to support survivors of violence. (Femili PNG is a Papua New Guinean NGO that the Development Policy Centre supports).

The forum is jointly hosted by the ANU Gender Institute and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. It will take place from 9am to 5pm on Thursday 13 October 2016 at the Sir Roland Wilson Conference Centre, 120 McCoy Circuit, ANU, Canberra.
